Welcome to eelkema.net — a place where the histories of our family are gathered, preserved, and shared. On my father’s side, you’ll find the history and genealogy of the Eelkema and Boelens families rooted in the northern province of Friesland, a region shaped by its strong traditions, resilient communities, and deep agricultural heritage. From my mother’s side, this site traces the Klinker and Bos families from the northeast province of Groningen, a landscape of wide horizons and steadfast people. Together, these lines tell the story of generations who lived, worked, married, and raised families in the northern Netherlands, and whose legacy continues today. My hope is that this site preserves their lives and provides a meaningful connection for current and future generations.
